Floating Window Design for Detailed Pokémon Analysis

Overview
The floating window feature in the Smart IV app is a core functionality that provides detailed Pokémon information in Pokémon GO by scanning the screen in real time. This feature allows users to instantly view key details such as IVs (Individual Values) and CP (Combat Power) without leaving the game. It enables players to make strategic decisions quickly, accessing all necessary data on the go without interrupting their gameplay experience.

Identifying User Challenges
Pokémon GO players enjoy expanding their collections by capturing rare Pokémon and succeeding in Gym battles, which motivates them to continuously improve and try new strategies. However, many players find themselves needing to switch between multiple apps or websites to get detailed information about their Pokémon—such as their Individual Values (IVs), optimal movesets, or the stardust required for powering up. This process is not only time-consuming but also detracts from the immersive experience of the game.
Design Approach
Based on the research, the floating window would provide real-time, comprehensive Pokémon data without disrupting gameplay. With this idea in mind, I started my design process by focusing on simplicity, accessibility, and functionality.
Straightforward Navigation: The app’s clear tab-based navigation allows users to quickly access sections like IVs, Moveset, Power Up, and Stats, enhancing usability and keeping the gameplay flow uninterrupted.
Minimalist and Non-Intrusive Elements: A clean and simple layout with ample whitespace and subtle visual cues directs attention to key information without overwhelming users, ensuring easy tracking of important data.
Consistent Design Language with Pokémon GO: The app’s visual style aligns with Pokémon GO’s design language, using a similar color palette, typography, and icons to provide a familiar user experience. This cohesion helps users intuitively navigate the interface without distraction.
Outcomes
This companion app is more than just a tool; it’s an enhancement that adds depth to the Pokémon GO experience. It bridges the gap between fun and strategy, offering a unique solution that empowers players. This project not only reflects my passion for design but also my commitment to creating meaningful experiences that resonate with users.

Manual Editing for Unrecognized Data
This feature allows users to manually edit Pokémon data that is not automatically recognized or is incorrectly captured during Pokémon GO screen captures. Users can easily edit IV values and other attributes directly within the app, ensuring the data is accurate and customized to their preferences.
