Identifying User Challenges
PokeRaid provides users with the ability to create and join raid rooms in the Pokémon Go game. Through user research, analysis, and usage data, we discovered that our users were experiencing difficulties in joining raid rooms, particularly during popular raid events. The rapid filling of popular raid rooms and the challenge of accessing desired rooms were negatively impacting our users' experience.
Challenges:
Conceptualization
User feedback and data analysis revealed the need for a new approach to address these issues. Our team discovered that implementing a reservation system would be beneficial in providing users with a more organized and planned participation in raid events. Thus, our aim was to make participation processes more manageable by ensuring users could secure their spots in advance for designated raid events.
Crafting the Reservation System
When designing the reservation system to address the needs we identified, I considered user feedback and usage patterns. My first step was to create an intuitive and simple reservation process that allows users to book specific raid events in advance.

Notification
Reminder notifications for reserved raid boost participation and ensure smoother events as the raid date approaches.

Cancellation
Users can easily cancel or modify their reservations if necessary, accommodating last-minute changes seamlessly.

The Hero's Journey
One of my earliest projects, the raid reservation system, has undergone several revisions over time to become more flexible and functional for users. By adding hooks, I tailored solutions to various usage scenarios. This project was both a productive and enjoyable experience for me and the company 🙂.
